Activity Summary: Classroom & Conflict Management Training Program Overview WDO recently completed a specialized Classroom and Conflict Management training program specifically for student leaders in Gabiley’s primary schools. The initiative was designed to transform the role of student representatives from simple rule-monitors into active peacebuilders and effective classroom coordinators. Inclusive Participation The workshop reached a total of 33 student leaders, demonstrating WDO’s commitment to gender-inclusive leadership with a balanced participation of 17 male and 16 female students. By training both young men and women together, the program ensured that leadership skills and conflict resolution techniques are shared equally across the student body. Key Achievements Conflict De-escalation: Participants were trained in "active listening" and mediation techniques to resolve peer disputes on the playground and in the classroom without immediate teacher intervention. Leadership Transformation: The training shifted the focus toward "supportive leadership," where student leaders learn to assist their peers and teachers in creating a calm, focused learning environment. Empowerment & Confidence: Through interactive role-playing, students gained the confidence to speak publicly, address bullying, and advocate for a respectful school culture. Long-Term Impact By empowering these 33 young leaders, WDO is fostering a more harmonious school environment in Gabiley. These students now serve as "Peace Ambassadors," reducing classroom disruptions and allowing for a higher quality of education. This program highlights WDO’s belief that teaching leadership and emotional intelligence at a young age is essential for building a resilient and disciplined community.
